Plaster Board Hell

Hey folks, just stumbled across this Forum and thought it looked like the best place tto ask for help.

I have a Pioneer 436 which I need to put up in my new rented flta (not to bothered by holes as I will fill them when I leave). As the Girlfriend found the flat and organised everything I didnt know the best walls for it to live on are Plaster Board each side.

I need to know the best way of getting this thing to stay up..

I have been thinking of getting a plate made to fit on the wall the other side and bolting straight through but I dont know if it would hold it up. I was thinking of making sure there is a strut between the screws so the two plates (the mounting bracket and the plate on the other side of the wall) are pinched against it.

this isnt really my area so I really could do with some help.

Cheers

Hi mate, firstly welcome to the forums, in between the 2 sides of plaster board you should have wooden studs of a size 4" x 2" for instance these should be roughly 16" centres apart, you should be able to fix your bracket to these studs, you may need to tap the board to find the studs or better still use a stud finder if you have one, you can always use a small drill piece to make a pilot hole either side of the studs so you know you are in the centre of them.

Hope this helps

Taz
