Speaker Protection Relays

Hi All,
I'm looking to find a speaker level source selector switch box which is automatically triggered from my amp (so I can connect a plasma screen [stereo amp but no speakers] and my 5.1 amp to my main speakers). I've seen manual switch boxes and automatic units that are triggered by the signal level, but I'm looking for a unit which will change over as my amp is switched on/off.
Problem is I can't find one off the shelf so I'm thinking of building one, and so to this post...

It occurred to me that if I could use the same type of relay that is used internally by amplifier manufacturers, that would give me a good shot at minimising any speaker signal loss/distortion associated with the switch box.
Does anyone know of any manufactures/models/specifications for relays that have been used for speaker protection?
I guess this is more a question for amplifier manufacturers or DIYers, but any help gratefully received.
Thanks in advance,
Simon.
