Plasma Height

Hiya all , I'm new to all this Plasma business. I've bought a new 42' lg to go with the surround sound ( Sony STR-DB1070) but just can't determine the hight the Plasma needs to be to "look" the part. at this time I've drilled 12 holes !!! to fit the damn thing. I have the NEXUS XL 3000 Wall mount. Viewing will be from anything from 6" to 13" around the room. I know one can't please everyone but if to low it looks silly, to high it looks pathetic . So ....... what's the rule of thumb when putting a plasma on the wall?

No real rule of thumb.

Some people have then at eye height when sitting down much like they would a CRT. For what it's worth the bottom of my 42" is 900mm from the floor and I sit around 10 feet away.

You need to consider your seating position and design. If you have recliners, or slouch on the couch, high on the wall is OK. If you sit upright, you need the TV lower.
If you have to tip your head too far to look at the TV, you'll strain your neck.

If you decide to fit the TV high on the wall, you might need an adjustable mount to angle the screen down towards you.

I've got my 40" screen on a 650mm high stand, and I sit fairly upright.
