running cables under the carpet. how to do it tidily?

hi, im going to be running 2 10m scart cables and 3 10m runs of speaker cable under my carpet.

how can i get it to enter and exit the carpet without it looking untidy?

chisel out a bit of the skirting and run it behind that? or add a little extention to the top of the skirting to make it easyer for the cables to run behind it?

any ideas would help

thanks

What I did with mine was to cut a strip of the underfelt away so there was a gap between the underlay and the gripper rod. This acted like a cable gulley to run the cables in, and because it's near the skirting, it doesn't get walked on. With the underlay being quite thick and the carpet having a rubber backing, the cables were well hidden with the carpet in place.

I did only run speaker cables, a coax sub cable and a digital cable so not as many as you are going to do.

As it isnt very much cable u could try doing it behind the skirtingboard, make sure u can get some the same to match rest of room. Chisel a bit out behind it and then use an adhesive like "no nails" to glue the skirting board back on, not using nails means u cant go thru the cable A small bit along top half of skirting will be ample

with me, i had a gap of about an inch between the carpet grip and the skirting and ran the cable along there. no glue or nothing. as my walls were cream/magnolia, when i ran the cable up the corner i covered it up with masking tape and you can't notice it

Thead Risky3301 Pioneer 506XDE Install see post 10. pic of six speaker face plate. All six speakers soldered at the back. A much neater finsh. All you need to do is cut a channel in the wall then fit either a flush or surface twin socket mount then solder all your connections and then just plug in your speakers using 4mm Banana plugs. You can also buy Scart face plates as well or just use 80mm desk cable tidy next to it for a neat outlet for you scart cables etc.
