Blocking window air vents

Is there any effective-easy way of blocking up the air vents in double glazing windows. My windows seem to be very effective at allowing normal noise to enter my house

Although I would not recomend it, (assuming these are the screwed/clipped on frame vents) then you can take them off and fill the holes in the frame with silicone on both the internal and external frame surface , and then fit the vents back on.

Thanks

Whilst I am not keen to avoid fresh air entering the room I am less keen on the noise but I do wonder if the (10 year old) window seals are failing in some way

Dont seal the vents mate you could end up with condensation problems. If the the vent is removable take off the cover and fill the slot with semi dense foam then fix back the vent covers.

The other aleternative is to replace the vents with Acoustic baffle vents this is a pore made version of the above and does exactly the same thing.

Hope this helps
