Problems with homemade scart to composite

First Hello to all.

I have made a scart to composite (1x phono, 1xmini phones jack)

The video part works fine the 17 gnd and 19 composit works perfect.

The problem is with the audio part.
I don't get any sound from it.
I have conected it like:
-|-|---|jack|

I have conected the tip of the jack to left out (scart pin 3)
The center ring to right out (scart pin 1)
and the long last ring to the GND (scart pin 4)

From what I can mesure the input conector on my sound card has an impedance of around 30kohm.

What am I doing wrong.
Should I add a capacitor or resistance between gnd and the lines?
Anyone has any idea how to do it right ?

Aside from the point that you have your left & rght reversed, there would appear to be nothing wrong with your description - ass uming you are trying to take a signal FROM the SCART device and feed it IN to the PC. And you should not need any additional components.

However, you may need to enable the chosen input on your PC using something like the mixer software that accompanies your soundcard. And ensure you are using LINE in, not microphone in.

You are right what I have writen is reversed but luckily i wired it right.

The line is enabled and works with other imputs.
I have tryed with the output of a portable cd player and works fine.
I just can't get any sound ot of the scart adapter.

Anyway thank you for your reply.

The wiring as described in the first post is correct. What are you connecting the scart plug to? Some TV's will only output audio from the scart if their headphone level is adjusted up. (I'm thinking Sony here)

Presumably you have tested the cable you made for continuity and short circuits.

I am conecting from an AMINO set top box.
When I check for voltage on the pins when not conected I do get around 0.5v Vots of alternate voltage. The problem is that when I conect the plug to to the sound card the voltage comes to zero.
(I should definitly get me an osciloscope a multi meter doesnt cut it. :D)

I am not sure why the voltage colapses when the sound card is conected.

Problem solved!

Thank you all for your help.

It seem like this little rascal of a settop box outputs sound on pin 2 and 6.
While i have no problem with geting video from pins 19 and 17.

Now all that remains is me wondering why the hack is it so.
And even more try to get an osciloscope. Trying to figure out if the voltage i read is just some radio interference or the real signal is just too frustrating.

Again thank you all, belive it or not you helped a lot!
