Help with cables
HI there,
Not sure if this is the right board, but.........I recently moved mouse and my Plasma doesn't really sit right in the living room so have hung it on the wall in the kids playroom, which is fine, but the cables are just hanging from the screen down to the floor, whats the best way to hide these cables without chanelling out the wall? Is there something I can buy that I can simply paint the same colour as the wall to box them in.
p.s I'm no carpenter so won't be able to make one.
Also, I saw on some property show the other day a Plasma screen that had been "framed" by a wooden picture frame style thing. Anyone know where one can be found?

If you dont want to build a false wall, as some members have done to great effect, then i think that the only other option is some form of trunking. There are some excellent pictures around of chrome trunking that if put on both sides of the plasma make it look like a stand, i will try and find a link for you, if not check out the "get your plasma's out for the lads" thread in the plasma forum; that has some great install ideas.

TLC have a range called D-Line trunking that is rounded, different sizes and can be painted, link here, it also has T pieces and inner/outer corners for easy assembly

I have to run some cables under carpet for my fronts and rears. Clearly running the cables under the carpet is the easier option but what, if any, are the advantages of using trunking?

I suppose in your instance it would depend on how think the speaker cable is. I mean can you see that there is cabling under the carpet?

I've gone for QED ultra flat so probably no need to run the trucking around. Might look good though when you role the carpet back and that's about it!
