Advice from a spark required please.

I will be wall mounting Plasma TV (Pioneer 436FDE) as and when it arrives. I will be placing the cabling in the wall.

The question I have is about connecting the power supply.

Directly below where the display will be hung there is a piece of three core cable sunk in the wall covered by a blank face plate. There is also a fused on/off socket rough 20cm to the left. These two sockets are redundant as they are intended for an electric fire.

Would it be possible to utilise these sockets to power the display?

Is this something I could do my self or do i need to get an electrician to do it?

Thanks in advance!

i would always advise getting an electrician in unless your 100% confident using electrics. But going off what you have explained you could do this yourself

This is what i did...
I tapped in from a double socket just out of shot to the right...... and you can see the cable run to the isolating switch... i did this myslef and considering that the fire might be on a separate ring due to the amount of jucie it will be drawing might be a good thing.... after i did this i got a sparky to test everything just to stay in line with the current regulations (not sure whether i had to or not just piece of mind 4 me)
