Budget network/homecinema advice needed

Hi all,

I'm moving into a new house next month, (luckily) it needs almost everything doing to it so i can incorporate a new plasma and a few other 'essentials'

Now ive got a couple of questions about my plans.
Connecting a media centre pc to the plasma. Plasma is in the lounge, pc will be in the study upstairs. Should be easy enough to run a VGA cable down to the tv, but can i do the same with the remote sensor to control the pc? It will probably be about 8m away?

Also, i should have telewest HD, and an additional box in my bedroom but i will also have tv's in 2 other rooms, what would be the best way of getting a picture from the tewest boxes to the other 2 tv's? I'm not to bothered about being able to switch the channels from the other rooms.

As there will be alot of work including cabling involved, should i be doing anything else? As usual i'm on a bit of a tight budget but a few hundred quid on future proofing shouldn't be a problem.

Planned kit so far is :
Panasonic PHD8 plasma
Denon 1906 receiver
Undecided dvd player (probably around the £100 mark untill HD DVD player hits these shores)
Mordaunt Short Genies
Telewest HD

Main room home cinema, lighting and pc hopefully controlled with a Harmony remote

Not sure if it helps but my system is as follows,

1) MCE PC in the office room upstairs with SKY box plugged in to it
2) 15m VGA Lead, 3x5m "powered" USB extenders (daisychained together) to plasma in living room
3) Xbox hidden in bedroom cupboard with Xbox MCE extender to bedroom PC

Had this system in my old flat for 18 months and just set up agian in new house. Only slight issue was I had to "extend" the infa red eye cable from the MCE ir receiver (which was next to the plasma) to the sky box (Next to the pc). I initally tried this with cheap speaker wire(the free bell wire type stuff you get) and it worked fine over a 15m run to my suprise.

Right, after all the advice im thinking :
VGA from pc upstairs down to the plasma along with remote thingy!
DVD player, Telewest HD & xbox360 via component into amp then component into plasma.
RF out on each of the Telewest boxes into the 2 other tv's.

Is that about the best / easiest way of doing it?

I could use the xbox360 to play the stuff that is stored on the pc via network but there are quite a few divx files.
