Wall Mounting Plasma

Hi All,
I need some verification, I am about to help by brother hang his new 42" PX60 to a plasterboard wall.

My query is this:
The flat used to be an old Mill so all of the walls are plasterboard. The wall we want to put it on has a brick wall about 120mm behind it with insullation between the walls covered in plastic.

The best idea I can think of is to
1. remove a piece of the plasterboard the size just over the size of the wall bracket.
2. Fit a piece of wood to the 3 battons the same size as the hole 15mm thick.
3. Fit the Bracket & Plasma to the wood.

Can you tell me if this would be strong enough to hold the TV, and what type of wood to used?

Thanks for your help

Dan

Attache the 3 batons to the wall and then the bracket to the batons. Use 4inch anchorbolts into the wall to attache batons to wall.

Hi Sbowler,
Thanks for your reply, The batons in the pic are between the plasterboard & the outsidewall, These are spaced slighty too wide to attach the bracket directly to them. So if I add a piece of wood the same size as the battons then the bracket wood this hold ok.

We wish to have the plasma as close to the wall a possible.

Thanks for your time

Dan
