Dedicated AV Room

I have been given the go-ahead (by my good wife) to convert one of our top floor berooms into a dedicated Home Cinema room. The room size is 15x9.5ft so not bad at all.

We have a 6 bedroom house but there are only two of us so the room was not really used, it had a futon in there but that's about it. We could not dedicate a room on the gorund or first floor, this room is based on the second loor of the house.

I really don't know where to start, the 42" plasma will stay in the lounge, I will sell my 7 B&W 6 series speakers and buy a dedicated two channel amp to go with my recently aquired CD palyer (Arcam CD73T), I will buy dedicated Hi-Fi speakers for the lounge which will double up for T.V listening as the Plasma is screen only.

With this dedicated room being on the second loor I want to ensure it is well sound proofed and sealed.

I'll search this forum for hints and tips as I'm sure a few of the people on here have been through this process.

I'm so exicted, a big screen at last.

LOL Jon,

6 Bed house, tell me about it, we don't even use the top floor, what a waste of space it's been so far but now that one of the bigger rooms is going to be used for the AV room I'm a bit happier.

THe B&W are 601's two are series three and the other 4 are series 2's. THe centre speaker is an LCR600 (the bigger one of the two in the 6 range and so much of an improvement over the smaller centre speaker). PM me if your interested.
