Oh guys I forgot to add this earlier, This happend Saturday Morning 4/2/06

Well would you know it, after talking about home cinema and saying that the roof needs finishing (remember me saying that the boards were on) I decided that is what I would do this morning. I got the steps out (those that you can open out to make into a ladder) placed them up against the side of the garage, climbed up on to the roof asked my lad to join me telling him to be careful and got ready to snap a chalk line on the edge of the smart board so I could cut the boards level with the joists. But the ladder was in the way so I moved them away from the side of the garage by twisting them so that they lent against a small shed next to the garage. I then realized that the chalk was on the floor so I grabbed the ladders and moved them back into position. Remember these ladders turn back into steps when folded and guess what, yip, I stepped onto the things and they folded up, I fell back wards from approx 10 feet and landed onto the right side of my back just under my shoulder blade, smashed my ankle into some metal rails my elbow hit the flags as well, and eventually the back of my head smacked into the floor
. It knocked the wind completely out of me and because of the pain in my back I could only just about to breath small amounts air back into my lungs. God I thought I was dying, Diane (my wife) phoned for an ambulance and they took me to Wigan hospital, That was at 11 O'Clock this morning and I got home about 6 O'Clock this evening.
Sorry for the long winded report guys but it just proves how easy it is to badly hurt yourself, if I had fallen about a foot to my right I would have landed on a dwarf wall with a stone garden ornament which I think could have punctured my back.
PS does anyone want to finish my roof for me
ohhhhh it hurts when I laugh
yours in a lot of pain.
John

By the way this post was copied from another forum that I use and was writen on Sat evening, thats why it seems a bit out of date

Listen John, not being funny mate , but we dont like slackers in here A small graze on your ankle and girly back-ache just wont cut it with us hardcore d.i.yers

I suggest you get that extension lead out, hook up a floodlight and get back out there and finish the job like a man!

p.s - Get well soon mate
