Keeping equipment out of sight

Hi Everyone,

Not sure which forum to post this in but I thought I would start here.

I'm picking up my LG 37" LCD (RZ37LZ31) on Thursday and looking for some advice on minimising the visibility of the equipment attached to it (SKY+, XBOX, DVD Player and Receiver).

I am going to recess the TV on a mount in the wall in the lounge hiding the cables in the cavity.

If possible I would like to have all the equipment over in one corner of the room (out of sight behind the sofa) prob no more than 10m away.

My main concern is how am I going to do this and maintain picture quality with cables etc.

Sorry if info is a bit vague - feel free to ask questions.

I'm also thinking the shorter the cables the better the quality but dont quote me on that! Route the cables under the carpet , behind the skirting , down the side of a laminate floor , under floor boards ,there are a number of ways to do it!
