room plan

Hi all
I’m in the process of planning my set up for when I move in with the missus. she’s great bless her coz she don’t mind what I do so long as the outcome looks "nice"

Any way this is my plan
I intend on flush mounting my panny pw6 in to a studded wall that will stand out approx 7" from the original brick wall. The speakers all "mordaunt short MS 304's" will all be housed flush within the studded wall below the plasma and a homemade grill decor coloured to fit over them all.
What I want from you guys is your ideas comments and any potential problems I may face.
I have drawn up a plan with how it is now and so you can see what I’m aiming for.

Bentleg,

A bit OT, but what package did you use for that drawing?

Also I'd say if you are relying on passive ventalation (warm air rising out of the proposed vents) It might get a bit warm behind the plasma, some sort of circulating fan might be advisable (if you can get one quiet enough)

the speakers look a bit close together to give any real panning effects.

could the left and right ones be vertically mounted either beside or below the screen or is there not enough room? looks great otherwise, i would also suggest a fan of some sort. may three small PC case fans at each vent exit, assuming the cavity isnt too huge!

not sure how those speakers would cope with being flush mounted. i think they may have bass ports on the back so need to be out in the open. might be better going for some specific in-wall ones if this is the effect you're after.

have a look here for some examples: http://www.hifibitz.co.uk/subcategor...=0&pagesize=30

Hi all thanks for your advice.
The speakers have no ports on them, they are sealed units I never considered that a problem, I agree the spacing may not be enough to pan out the sound, suppose I cloud move them further out or stand them up right & further to the edges, that’s almost 5' spacing.. However after seeing a link to the orb audio web site I’m thinking of getting some of those.
I was hoping that the vents would be enough to let the hot air out but it seems the pc fan approach or something similar is in order.
