What colour HC room?

I have a spare room which I intend to convert into a home cinema room.
I will be using a projector and from what I have read so far, the ideal colour for the walls and flooring is black, to minimise reflections etc.

Even though the room will only be used for watching films, the idea of everything being black does sound a bit naff.

Could other members with their own rooms offer some advice please.

Thank you.

Suede effect paint is quite popular here, particularly the chocolate colour. Have a look at this thread: Inzaman's home cinema cellar conversion for some ideas.

The traditional dark red for cinemas works well too. I also have a dark blue ceiling as I thought 360 degree red might be a bit overwhelming & currently the concrete floor is just sealed with dark red concrete paint. I have some cheap dark blue carpet to match the ceiling that I need to fit.
