CAT5/6 AV Distrbution products ?

Hi folks,

I'm planning ahead for a home I am in the process of buying.

I intend to lay down a CAT5E or 6 network for AV and distribution and am trying to find a solution that is :
- Functionally rich (e.g. provides built in IR distrbution, may also distribute telephony or data)
- Fetches and distributes from a quality input (DVI vs component vs RGB vs S-Video vs Composite)
- Is HDTV and future technology proofed
- Is relativly low cost
- Passes W.A.F. (Wife Acceptancy Factor!)


So far I've found the below products to be most suitable :

However, I've not been able to find any reviews of these products on the net.

Would any of you have any experience using them ?

Are there any other products you could suggest ?

The Scion system looks like it relies on all but two of your sources being local and it is the distribution that is CAT5e based.

With the Av nex system both the sources and the viewing devices are CAT5e based and therefore can be remotely located. They will be launching a compatable home networking solution at the Home Building and Renovating / Smart Home Show this year.

Other things to look out for are the IR routing, does it route the incoming IR signals to all devices or just the one you are viewing?

How does it cope with an audio only situation? If it doesnt send a blue screen then some tv's can shut down. Can you route the audio to seperate (powered) speakers or and amp?
