My living room PDP install. Work in progress.

Just had the living room walls plastered up today covering all of my sins. So once the decorating has finished I should be able to start wall mounting my VIERA and 6.1 speaker pack which all have backing boxes sunk into the wall for neat and tidy connections.

1st 2 pics shows the walls stripped down to what good plaster there was left after I had done all of the wiring.

The next 2 pics show how well the plsterers have covered up the wiring.
Next up is to give it time to dry, decorate and then I can get on with fitting all of the wall sockets, plasma bracket, oh and the marble fireplace of course
I'll post more pics when there's more to see.

Looking good What covers did you use for your backing boxes? And where did they come from?

Just a pair of blank face plates with holes drilled in them with a wood cutting blade and a Dremel drill.

Hi i like what i see, i too am going to embard on somthing very similar to what you are doing. Are you going to fix a plasma to the chiney breast? or is it just for the centre speaker? Also what made you choose the colour of your walls?
Sorry to sound rude i like ot know as i am going to start my project very soon and would like tips.

I'd say it was for a PJ, as there is one sitting on the coffee table!

Yes, just recently finished. Check the ling in my sig, or check out how it was built here. However it is a dedicated projector room, whereas it sounds as though you want to go more the 'still a normal room' route.

Ayub: It's for a 42" Panasonic Viera Plasma mate.
Well spotted with the projector BTW Mr Bump, but it's gonna be hanging from the ceiling (topright of next photo) when I finally sort out a bracket, which is why there is a video lead strung across the fireplace.
The choice of colours was mainly down to the missus, but I overrode the decision of painting the whole chimney breast side of the room in the darker colour as I wanted to project onto a blank wall, so the end result is all cream walls with a light chocolate coloured chimney breast (I could have almost drank the paint as it looked like yummy chocolate milkshake).

I've finally got my projector mounted properly. These pictures were taken today at around 1pm when the sun was shining outside, so it just goes to show how good projectors are these days as this is just an old Panasonic PT-AE300 from around 2002/3.

(The TV is temporary BTW, it's not the one going on the wall).

Well I Finally got round to wall mounting the plasma.

Excuse the poor quality pic, it started to get dark and you know what Digital Cameras are like in low light.

Whats going on with the projector - its on the table by the side yet you have a picture on the wall on the other side of the fireplace ? Is there a mirror on that wall?

look at thw two photos before mate , think the tabletop projector is redundant
