Raising floorstanders help req.

Hi all,

I have a pair of B&W 602.5 floorstanders that due to new furniture need raising off the floor 300mm does anyone know the best way to do this please?

or maybe just the boxes. Perhaps an X shaped upright (mdf) and a suitible sized top ie make a table / stand. You could then join the assembly to the base of your speakers via screws or Blu-tack (holds very well after a day or so's compression!). Just use a nice thickness of mdf all round and the job's a good un. Wrap a curtain or something similar around the top if you want to hide it.

Lets see, well by deafult it could be a new RTP project.

Need to make summit that will hold the speakers well, same dimesnions as the cabinets. Then you can bolt through from below into the spikes bushes in the bottom of the speakers to hold them firm.

Ok then, hows about you make subwoofer box of the required dimensions (again thick mdf), use your spikes to locate fixing positions drill and fasten. You now have 1 unit 300mm higher. The box you make wants a hole large enough to fit in a brick then fill the box with bricks to add mass and stability. Spikes could be used under the whole assembly but due to the extra weight may do (more) damage to wooden floors.

I s'pose you could part fill the box with sand instead of bricks. You may want to keep the sand in poly bags tho'! unless the 'beach' effect floats your boat

Hi Taz I'm in the middle of making some platforms like yours, going for 18mm MDF sides and 18mm ply for the tops. spikes on the base and squash balls on the top, something like these :-
