Hiding two IR leds in wall (to replace Wii bar)

Hi

I'm planning on having a 1.7m wide chimney breast as a projector screen. As well as watching movies, I plan to use it with my Wii. The only issue with that is that the Wii has a little 'sensor' bar. All this is really is a plastic casing with two infrared LEDs inside. (There's essentially a little video camera in each Wii control that will then pick out these two points, and from the angle and spacing can work out rotation and distance from screen)

Anyway, so as not to sully the otherwise perfectly flat white wall, what's the best, most inconspicuous way to embed these two LEDs?

I'll be plasterboarding the chimney, so expect just a couple of tiny holes will do. IR leds can be clear, I think the red colour is just an unnecessary filter.

Thanks

Marcos

Are you going to have a black fabric border round the screen? If so hide the leds in the black fabric that way they will be harder to spot.

Re: Hiding two IR leds in wall (to replace Wii bar)

Hi

Thanks for suggestion, but not going to have a border for a couple of reasons :

1) I won't always want the projection at full zoom - may sometimes want it smaller.
2) I don't want there to be any sign of it being a TV viewing area when not in use

The LEDs in question have a diameter of only 4.5mm, so shouldn't be too noticable I guess. I was wondering mostly about how to plaster cleanly up to the edges.

How about plastering these into the wall, painting them and then slotting the LEDs into them after - if they are clear LEDs you would hardly see them

Ah! Thanks. That's the word 'clip'. I was search for LED 'holders', 'housing', 'surround' , and all sorts. But not clips.

Perfect, I think that will do just the trick.
