Thanks: Gave 41, Got 17 | room 'panels'
having read this months HCC mag i have noticed in the featured home cinema they have used panels on the walls to cut down on sound reflections and offer a (small?) amount of noise dampening.
have any of you guys tried this?

Am currently building a load for my cinema.... i built in pretty serious cavity stud walls all round to cut out low frequency resonance , but this does not really help to control errant high frequency refections so after some testing I decided to panel the walls at intervals.
The panels are of different thickness and are all intercahngable.

Sly,
Have a look at this thread, Rockwool rigid slabs - suitable for acoustic treatments? It might give you a few ideas.

sorry to be a pest! | My walls are:
10ft (screen and rear wall)
14ft (side walls)
at the moment the panels are 2ft x 6ft
They are of wooden frame construction filled with studio grade 2" thick very dense acoustic foam.
the frame is then to be covered with cloth (when i can choose it!)
