AV Unit needed. Help!!!

Im not sure if I should be posting here as its DIY but I dont want to make it, but anyway...

...Im looking for a unit to hold all of my kit and keep the Mrs happy too!!
Im looking for something like the Longbow unit that Kent Home Cinema have but without the plasma lift and without the £4k price tag!!

It needs to be around 2m wide and 50cm deep. Ive looked at ARCA but dont think much of the build quality in relation to the price.
It also needs to be wood or veneer not cold metal!!

Can anyone point me in the right direction???

you could always try a local cabinet maker. I looked up a few in the yellow pages several months ago, all of whom seemed to produce some very nice furniture. You just give them pictuers and dimensions, and they come up with designs. They're a little expensive but they will use solid wood and finish them very neatly

I took the plunge and designed/made one myself with varying thicknesses of MDF and my jigsaw!

I spent a lot of time designing it and getting all the dimensions spot on, then just went to my local B&Q warehouse and had the nice man in their wood cutting shop cut all of the pieces for me. (He was in a nice mood and didn't even charge me!)

All I had to do was drill and cut a few extra pieces then fix it all together. I found everything I needed in B&Q (who also have all sorts of legs/wheels/handles/etc.. for this very thing.) Also got some special multi-purpose paint for the MDF which is a nice satin black and painted it all.

In total it probably cost me about £30, is exactly how I wanted it and carries everything. Its even on hidden castors to allow moving it around. Okay, it doesn't look like some of the £300+ furniture but then it didn't cost anywhere near that much!

Why not have a go?! You could always use real wood for the front/top to make it look a bit more expensive, or get veneer for the MDF.

I bought two Ikea units and screwed them together. It has glass doors and helps to reduce the faint htpc noise even further:
