My Proposed Bedroom Setup

Hi, starting to get addicted to these forums, looking for new ideas, and getting loads. Anyway i have decided to build a floating wall around my tv with a av cabinet on the bottom, here i have mocked one up in painted, forgive my limited skills haha but not very good in sketchup either.

Now firstly what does everyone think. the blue will match my wall so it blends in, its not that dark in real like tho.

How would i create an access panel to get behind the tv for access to the wires. As on one side the timber batons will get in the way wont they?

Last i only have a logitech x530 speaker system, cant afford a decent suround system so this will do for now.

As its being done in mdf how would i cover the joints up so they look smooth when it is painted, i have some silk paint that i bought from homebase to paint my walls would this be suitable for the wall.

Any help is appreciated and would love to here your comments, looking to start this at weekend and will post pics as i go along.

Matt

Re: My Proposed Bedroom Setup

Now what i wanted to do was build the floating wall around the tele as it is now but i am now thinking of building it were you can see the dvd cabinet, have the bed allong the back wall were the laptop is and in between that can have this Designer Gaming Recliner Faux Leather BLACK Bean Bag Chair: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home

I also want to change the bed to this IKEA | Beds & mattresses | Double beds | MALM | Bed frame

Get rid a the wardrobe, but wouldnt have any room for my clothes. Can anyone solve this. Would prefer the in my room. And lastly paint the ceiling.

Was also thinking of getting a futon instead a the gaming chair, then have a speaker either side.

Comments would be appreciated.

Matt

Re: My Proposed Bedroom Setup

Hi Matt,

How about posting a floor plan showing your proposals? That would make it a lot easier for people to comment on and make suggestions. It's a little difficult to picture your plans from the photos, and I'm sure you would get more input!

Cheers,
MarkP
