cable chasing through cavity wall

ok fairly newish house mid 80's cavity walls.

i'm currently in the process of finishing a kitchen all units are in tiling done etc i'm just not putting a small 22" lcd on the far wall over the dinning table. however i want to keep clean walls withough cable tidies everywhere. its a standard 4 bedroom 2 storey detached. kitchen is ground floor ariel is in the loft.

i've drilled the holes in the kitchen wall to the cavity and chased up the rods however they appear to bound of something on the way up so i can't find it at the top.

any ideas that don't involve making huge holes in the wall. also the inner wall is thermalite block and runs right up to the tiles.
