HT in loft. Advice needed

Hello Ladies and Gents


I am about to start ripping up my current loft conversion and I would like to convert it to a dedicated HT.

As you can see from the pic below the room is a bit of an odd shape( I guess that is common to lofts though)


I have read through some of my post so

Walls
1) rip out all the plaster board
2) fill existing frames with a much high-density foam as possible
3) install resilient bars(not sure about this step)
4) install 12.5mm acoustic plaster
5) apply 15.mm acoustic plaster with greenglue or similar
6) not sure
7) paint in a dark blue or red


Floors
1) rip up tongue and grove
2) fill existing frames with a much high-density foam as possible
3) replace floor *
4) install acoustic rubber matting *
5) thick carpet underlay
6) dense thick carpet

* maybe install some of that foam and chipboard combi stuff


Ceiling
1) rip of plaster board
2) fill with acoustic foam
3) decouple
4) 12.5mm acoustic plasterboard
5)15.5mm acoustic plasterboard


I would like to have a much sound dampening as possible as I am a late night film watch and I don't want to pee my neighbours off.

Would anything else be worth doing

any comments would be appreciated

I am little unsure if the current timber frame is good enough for me to use. I guess I need to take the plaster board off and see how it is connected to the existing wall.


Has anyone used this m20 wall panel stuff?
CADM20 soundproofing wall panels


I have only about 3-4inches (sorry I will measure later) between the chimney breast and the current plasterboard in the loft so I cant leave much of an air gap so I am hoping this dense stuff may be better in small spaces.

I have seen a number of post regarding acoustic mineral(rock) wool and the regular Rockwool. I think I will go for the regular stuff due to cost saving What density do you guys suggest?


another question is I understand(somewhat) how the decoupling of the walls work but I am little unsure of how the timber frame is attached as I assume that the frame will also transport sound.

as you can see from the pics I should be able to put a ton of insulation in the floor and all the walls except the party wall should be no problem as well although I have a small bathroom which I would rather keep the same

I am also starting to research some bass traps and wall panel (all diy solutions) However I will see how my current plans pan out which will be quite away off still have a kitchen and 2 bathrooms to pay fo..save & pay for as the credit cards have melted

Good luck with this, I shall be watching with interest. Not a lot of the projects on the site involve sound proofing so I dont know how much advice you'll get on the use of resilient bars etc. but I will be fascinated to see how you get on
