Bedroom Wall Mount Build

Hi new user here, been looking through the forums at some excellent home cinema setups, now i am after my tv mounted on my bedroom wall with a floating type wall. Now the wall i want to mount the tv on is a partition wall but i havent got a stud locator. Now i am thinking of building a stud frame with say 4 x 2 timber and mounting the TV bracket on some 2 x 1 which will be attached to the stud frame which wil be all attached to the wall. Then MDF it over so that the tv is protruding from the frame by an inch or so. Would this be strong for my 32 inch tv.

The Wall

sorry for the rubbish pictures and the messy room.

I am wanting something like this users design Bedroom set up.. floating wall etc.. and going to paint it to match my blue wall. Also any ideas are welcome.

Thanks

Matt

Re: Bedroom Wall Mount Build

You'll need to screw the frame to the wall, if it's a stud wall then you'll catch about 3 uprights I'd imagine... Might be worth cutting a large piece of 12mm ply wood across the width of the frame screwed directly to the wall with as many beam fixings as you can get, you could then fix your TV mount to this (make sure you get some screws through the mount, plywood and into beams as well as into the ply)..

32" tv should be relatively light

Bear in mind you'll ideally want a slim flat-to-wall type hook mount else you'll have to build the frame out quite far from the wall which won't look as good.

Hope that helps a little and good luck
