Hidden Cables from TV - Plug socket needed

Hi.

I'm about to mount a new TV on the wall and hide the cables behind.

I need some kind of plug socket which will allow me to wire the TV into the back of it so I don't have a trailing wire exposed.

Something similar to a cooker socket, but obviously not 45A (as they come).

Somebody must manufacture something that fits my need.

Anyone got any ideas?

Exactly, but with as it's to replace a double flush fitted socket, I need a double version.

With a plug socket on one side ideally.

Something like this:


That's a cooker switch, which comes as a 45A fused socket.

I need something with a 13A fuse...

I personally havent seen a double sized outlet with a fused spur on one side and a 13a socket on the other

However..

you could remove the back box, replace it for one of these;

Then fit a single socket to one side and a fused spur to the other side... cut the plug off an IEC power lead, cut it to size then wire that directly into the spur, nice neat and tidy way of doing it.

Finished..Finally.

Got rid of the aerial socket, and made it into a fused switch spur.

Just gotta pollyfill the 2 of holes I had to make to route over the wooden studs.

Looks good otherwise...

This shows where the studs are, hence why I needed to make the holes.

Used a stud finder.

Hi,

I currently have my PJ plugged into a regular wall socket. Its a bit messy because the projector is right next to the socket & the IEC cable is very long. I was thinking of replacing the regular wall socket with one of these fused spur sockets, cutting the IEC cable to length & wiring it in directly, however I can't see where the IEC cable enters the fused spur socket. Does it need to be wired in via the back box? or can I have it entering thru the front of the fused spur faceplate?

The FCU will have a removable bit of plastic for a flex to go into. It will enter the FCU at the bottom.

Don't buy Volex rubbish, buy MK or Ashley.
