Stupid question.....

Whats the difference between a hot and cold iec connector?

Your regular IEC (as usually found on AV kit) looks something like this:

Whereas a 'hot' IEC (as seen on kettles) has a notch on the underside of the female connector, like this:

And yes I am thinking of some DIY power leads based on the same principle as RichardH.

Though Im looking at doing at least 5 or so.... So would need more than he has.....

Can't beat a bit of good old DIY.

I think RichardH had quite a bit of gear leftover, and will almost certainly have enough cable, as we split a 50m reel of 3x2.5mm2 between just the two of us !
