Running cable behind wall

Please help me!

I constructed a false wall a few months ago and I need to now run a cable from the top to the bottom of the wall to get power to my projector screen.

The wall is made up of 2*2" battons then 12mm mdf on top, with insulation inbetween. Now I've made a 2" hole to feed the cable down at the top of the wall but as soon as I try and push the cable down it just gets stuck in the insulation!

Any ideas??????????

Re: Running cable behind wall

a straightened out coat hanger usually works, tie a piece of string to it and if you know there are no horizontal batons slide it between the mdf and insulation. When its through tie it to the cable and pull through, leave another string in there for later use.

Re: Running cable behind wall

Thanks for the replies everyone.

In the end, I had some plastic tubing which I pushed up the wall and managed to get it to the hole I'd made and ran the cable through it
