About to buy my first house, semi detached with attached garage next to the neighbour and garden.

I want a home cinema room, but not sure how to proceed. Options are as follows:

1: Convert garage partially, and leave door on for storage for my motorbike. Width will be about 2.5 metres and length 3 metres.

2: Fully convert garage, making length 4.5 metres and put motorbike in shed.

3: Use living room, width is 3.20 metres and about 4 metres wide. Advantage is that I keep sound away from neighbours

4: Extend living room into garage, most costly option, but gives best width. Issue around sound with my neighbour again.

As a fellow biker I'd keep that garage for the bike and convert the living room I'd then put a 32" LCD in the garage for when working on it/cleaning it

Well the money saved on converting the garage could be used for an off road bike or a fireblade!!

Got a Fazer 1000 2001 model at the minute, what about you?

I think you've answered your own questions..

There's nothing worse that having problems with your neighbors when it comes to sound..
Inside is your best alternative,..and if you can make the area bigger..all the better..but in your case you would still have to include some sound isolation to the outside world..could be expensive..

As a true biker I'd convert the garage for anybody not wanting to watch what I was and keep the bike in the living room with the rest of my toys
