1/3 screen height "rules" - do they apply when viewing from a recliner?

I understand from reading on the forum that conventional wisdom is to position a projector screen so that eye level is 1/3 up on the height of the screen.

Do these rules still apply if sitting on a recliner with the head, and hence eyes, tilted back somewhat? If this isnt the case, is there a guide as to how high the screen should be in relation to eye level?

thanks in advance for your help

These rules are just guidelines. We're not all the same height for a start.

Thanks for the reply. I had typed "rules" in the title as I am aware these arent hard and fast and as I understood it, the guidelines of 1/3 up the screen at eye level was specifically because we are all different heights

There are some good guidelines here Vertical Viewing Angle - it is not where you are in relation to your screen (eg 1/3rd up) but what your overall viewing angle is (see my deliberations on the same topic here: Pompey Project - Bedroom Conversion )
