I just ordered a 40 inch LCD TV and want to use it with a media PC. I have a pair of decent Creative T20 2.0 PC speakers which I will use for the time being.

How do I use this single pair of speakers to watch TV and movies from my PC at the same time? I presume I have to get sound from the PC to the TV and the TV will then send the signals to the speakers?

PC 3.5mm out -> TV RCA in -> TV optical out -> 3.5mm Speaker

Is this correct?

Just connect direct from PC to speakers. Optical is digital, the 3.5mm connection on the speakers is analogue. Does the TV not have an analogue audio output? If not, check the manual, it might output audio over SCART, in which case you'll need a switchable SCART adapter and suitable cabling. TBH, PC speakers aren't designed for this though. The should also have a headphone output but this will be low quality.

I bought a Samsung LE40B550. I am not really too fuss about the quality, but I am really skeptical about TV speakers as they have no bass at all.

The side seem to have an AV input but it is kind of useless as I cannot use the TV as a medium to connect to the speakers. The rear however have a 3.5mm headphone out, whic I can connect to the PC speakers. SO in the end I might just get a switch for the 2 3.5mm jacks.

If I want to get a simple TV speaker setup, is there any basic decent sets out there?
