Re: connecting home cinema to my plasma

Welcome to the forum. You'll need to provide some more information i.e. the make and model number of the home cinema system. Also, please confirm what audio outputs your TV has? Obviously whatever the TV has, has to match the home cinema system.

LG 50PS3000 Televisions TV/Audio/Video

This suggests the TV is pretty well provided with connections - 2 HDMI, PC audio in and Component audio in as well as an optical digital out.

So information on what you aim to connect will help.

Re: connecting home cinema to my plasma

Visit here for some suggestions. Ideally you're looking for a system with optical in but personally I would avoid an all-in-one as they have built-in DVD (most people have a separate player or a bluray player) and limited connections. Separates consisting of an AV Receiver (amp) and speakers are a better option but obviously cost a bit more. I can see the appeal of an all-in-one but all to often (check the first few pages of this forum) people buy something else and realise they don't have anywhere to connect it and have to add unsightly manual switches so instead of controlling everything via their remote with their shiny new TV etc. they have to muck around with cables and switches. Buy once is my advice.

Please also bear in mind you will only get stereo or a pseudo effect from Freeview, which is not true surround sound.
