Question Advice please: In-Ceiling Screen. Cables don't go through it!

Hi.

I'd appreciate confirmation of the following.

I think I may just have come up with a good reason why I have no choice but to run wires along the skirting board, rather than the ceiling (as originally planned) in my new loft conversion.

I am wanting to install an in-ceiling (Beamax) screen. The projector will be opposite this (directly).

My original plan was to install cables (or, rather, tubing for cables) in the ceiling from the projector to the far wall where the blu-ray, amp. etc. will be (i.e. directly opposite the projector). It has just occurred to me that I can't do this as there will also be an in-ceiling projector directly opposite the projector which would mean cabling through this(!!).

Am I right? How would such a set-up usually be cabled?

Thanks,

Steve.

I think he is saying that he wants to mount the projector screen inside the ceiling so the in-ceiling projector screen will be between the projector and where he wants to run the cables to.

Re: Advice please: In-Ceiling Screen. Cables don't go through it!

Sorry for being unclear. I will try to explain better.

The longest room distance appropriate for the roof beams is 11ft. If I am sitting facing the screen then I previously anticipated that I would have a projector directly above the seating area, and the amp. and other hardware directly opposite me in a unit on the floor (i.e. 11ft from me). I would also have a projector screen in the ceiling (i.e. it will descend about 10ft opposite me).

I need to run HDMI or equivalent from the amp. , Blu-ray etc. back to the projector in the ceiling (i.e. from 11ft in front of me to the projector above my head).

I thought I would/could do this in a long, straight line (i.e. up the wall in front of me and back along the ceiling). But, if there is a projector screen in the ceiling (and all its casing) this is not going to be practical, is it? (i.e. I can't run the cables through the in-ceiling projector casing).

I hope this helps. Many thanks in advance,

Steve.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Thanks for putting it far better than I did.

So. I take it you would agree down the walls, along the skirting, and back up the walls (to a shelf mount, I think) is the only sensible option?

Thanks,

Steve.
