Spraying kef speakers

I have my new kefs 130's all ready go but they need to be painted black .

It states on the page that they are ready to be painted .

Anyone had a bash at this ? Should I tackle it myself with a spray can from B&Q or perhaps ask a local spraypainter to do em ?

Quite fancy it myself but not sure what to use , whether to laquer or not .

Cheers .

I have done the eggs, very easy to break down to a shell (excuse the pun). Also being cast alloy, they were baked on a low heat in the oven between coats and now have a hard gloss black finish.

Re: Spraying kef speakers

If you can dis-assemble the speakers to leave just the casing, and assuming it is metal, why not look at getting them powder coated in gloss black? The finish will be fantastic and better than a painted finish - certainly a lot more hardwearing.

Yep, as strange as it sounded, baking between coats really helped. The finish is as good as a high gloss powder coat, and very hard wearing. Ok, a powder coat would be alot stronger, but it costs more and how much of a knock is a wall mounted speaker going to get in its life. Powder coating is a bit OTT to be honest.
