Running Wires behind plasterboard?

Hi, i am looking to have a wall-mounted TV in the center of my wall, and have the HDMI, Power, VGA cable run from the loft to this upstairs spare room, (this wall is between us and the neighbours) can anyone suggest the best way to go about this?

I am thinking either channel out a whole line from center of the wall up to the ceiling so cut out the plaster say 1inch thick, run the wires, and then fill the channel with Filla and then wall paper.

or cutting a hole say 2inch diameter, and poking something in and hoping that it arrives somewhere in the loft and thus pulling through all wires.

help!

Re: Running Wires behind plasterboard?

As long as the wall is dabbed, make a hole near the ceiling on the wall so you can pierce through the ceiling a bit easier, hole by the tv, shuv something up, fingers crossed it gets into the loft, use a sturdy draw wire / string to pull them down / up.

a lot less dust and mess and making good than chasing the wall

Re: Running Wires behind plasterboard?

Hi

If house is a timber kit and this is a fire wall between you and neighbour ( Not Dot and Dab ) Gyproc plank and plasterboard you should not be cutting into this wall at all as it will effect the fire rating between the two properties.
