Lightbulb Home AV Solution - Any suggestions

Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and embarrassingly the world of home cinema/networking.

I'm sure a lot of what I'm about to put down has been answered many times over but I'd be really grateful if some of you wouldn't mind humoring a newbie.

He're the reason for my project and what I would like to get out of it.
We're currently in the process of renovating our cellar which will ultimately be a 'cinema/living' room. The proposed set up is as follows:

1 x Sony Projector with VGA/S-Video input (only a couple of years old) for cellar
1 x AV Receiver + 5.1 Speakers (1 HDMI output - 3 inputs) for cellar
1 x Freesat PVR HD Box (Humax with HDMI output)
1 x PS3 (HDMI output)

1 x Samsung 1080p LCD in living room

The plan is to watch movies and HD content in the cellar and normal freesat/day to day TV in the living room upstairs.

As I see it there are several issues that require a solution. Firstly, how do I get the output from the 2 sources into the projector and secondly how do I get the freesat into the living room.

On top of this we also have a couple of ceiling speakers which we'd like to put in the kitchen and bathroom and would like to get music from our ipod or other sources into them.

I'm not sure if this is a massively complicated project or relatively easy. The only constant is the budget - not very much! Probably 200-300 quid as I already have the equipment.

I'd really apprecaite anyones comments on what i'm trying to achieve or a point in the right direction to a thread that's already discussed this previously.

Thanks in advance

Tom - Worcester

Hi tom, welcome your budget will be tight...
1:you will either need a splitter to split the signal or use some equipment that has dual outputs (as it looks like your PJ doesn't have HDMI input)
1a: You need a feed ideally 2 from a Dish to the receiver
2: You will need ceiling speakers (approx £150 a pair) an AMP and means of control (£2-300) or multiroom controller (£1000+)

Multi Room Audio | Wired Life may well help give mor eidea on the Audio side.
