New False chimney build

Hi all before i go ahead i'd like to collect as much info as possible. Our living room is quite narrow so this false chimney/integrated TV & equipment will same alot of space

Before i start here is the room as it stands:

And here is a first draft mock up (fireplace will be replaced with equipment)

Now the main info i need is how far can i bring this out, i really want to make it has slim as possible for space saving but don't want it to be crapped for equipment.

Now the deepest piece of equipment will be the amp (not purchased yet) This will be 45cm so will 8 cm be enough clearance at the back for the cabling?

Equipment will be:

Amp (Denon)
Sky HD
WDTV media box
Toppy PVR
DVD player

Many thanks and please jump in with any other suggestions.

Re: New False chimney build

Hello Mate

I think that your Chimney is going to have to come out by around 50cm if you want to house the amp which in my opinon is too deep.

If I were you I would keep to the original plan of making it as slim as you can and look at other options for the where to put the kit

My Chimney is about 23cm deep, I think more than 30 will be too much

Re: New False chimney build

Thanks, Yes i agree, 35cm would be ok, that would house the other equipment as well, but it's the amp that's the offender. Most amps are rather deep, i'll see if i can find one that's around 30cm deep!

Any suggestions more than welcome
