mixed cables in routes ?

Should I avoid running cables on the same routes and through the same holes in joists that are mixed ?

For example have basically one main run in the house that is accomodating 240v , speaker cable , hdmi , cat5 (although not used at this time ) and co-axil.

Please say no as its already done ..

Yes! Long runs of cables side by side are not a good idea. The power cables can create interferance down your signal cables. Try and avoid it as best as possible!

Re: mixed cables in routes ?

A rule of thumb here is you can cross cables carrying 240v at 90 deg with cat5`s and what have you, but running alongside is a def nono mate sorry

Try keeping 11 miles of it apart from each other

Re: mixed cables in routes ?

It is best avoided.

If you've already done it, and dont notice any issues, then dont worry about it.

I've had instances were it's been unavoidable but to run cables along side eachother. I never noticed any issues at the time.

Usually, a separation of 50mm between parallel runs of power (230V) and other cables (data and video) is sufficient. As said above power can cross other cables at 90 deg with no problem.
