Well after getting my first fix of these forums over the xmas hols i now find myself addicted and visit every day. after much reading the time has come to do my own little project. i will be purchasing a sony kdl 46w4500 screen and already have a 5.1 system . i have done a sketch and would like your opinions, i am a bit concerned about the right speaker position being set back from the corner of the chimney breast but do not really want to bring the wall any further out. i will be building recessed shelving for my equipment but have not put this in the sketch, if any one has any ideas how i can jazz it up a bit please fire away. by the way the room is 4.6 x 3.3 into the alcoves . look forward to your opinions.

If you search the DIY forum for floating and false walls there was a couple of people who built units into the corner like your proposal.

It'll take up too much of my life to find them but give it a go there are a couple of good examples.
