Was looking at a bluedelta milestone, but this brainwave may work, but not sure,

Basically, i have Virgin media V+. Blueray, DVD in the lounge all with HDMI, and i'd like to send these round the house.

If i get a HDMI to CAT5 balun, and send the HDMI single to the loft where my patch panel is, and then use a 1 in, 4 out HDMI splitter, then send this to the various TVs around the house.

not to bothered about watching different things on different TV's, but would like to control the Virgin from any TV depending on which room im in.

I see that i just need a splitter, and a few HDMI - CAT5 balun kits?

Do you intend to set it up as 3 different HDMI>CAT5>HDMI or have 1 and use a switcher? If you set it up with a switcher you can save youself quite a bit of money, but would probably need to use one with a remote control and use a remote control extender (preferably using RF rather than a cable - less wiring to do). If you do that then you should be able to control all of the other devices from whatever room you are in providing you have the correct remote (or you could get a universal remote for every room, which would save a lot of hastle, but would cost quite a lot for anything half decent). Seems like a good, viable solution to me.

Also, it would probably be cheaper and more effective to use a cat-5 splitter than to use a HDMI one. It would meen having a CAT-5>HDMI converter for each TV mind, but if you are splitting it in the loft you'd probably need quite a few good boosters if you sent HDMI back down to the other rooms through standard cables anyway so it would probably cost more in the long run anyway.

Anyways devices into a HDMI splitter sounds good, forgot about the main telly though as thats in the lounge, with a onkyo 606.

So, without the distro stuff, i would be V+, BlueRay DVD into Onkyo, then out from onkyo to the telly.

Would i need a split from the output of the onkyo, so feed the distro stuff, and the main room telly?

Where do i find these cat 5 splitters you mention, and what am i using for the RF IR stuff?

for info, i have 2 x CAT5 and 2x coax behind each TV, these all terminate in the loft.

Where the AV rack will be, i have 8 cat 5 and 4 rf, so hopefully enough cables to do this properly.

I was hoping to use one of the 2 coax to distribute a freeview signal around the house from roof ariel.
