been giving permission to do floating wall need advice and ideas

Afternoon All,

I am new to AV and after browsing these pages for a while and getting insperation pestering the misses i have been given permission to do a floating wall. my DIY skills are limited but i am willing to give this a try. I have a good idea of what i want to achive but there are a few things that you might help me with. i am also on a budget but also calling in a few favours

Here's the system
Samsung 40" LCD
Samsung Home cinema system
Sky +
Xbox 360
Wii

1) The Frame what wood would you use for this?
2) MDF or Plaster Board then a skim (obviously not on the MDF)?
3) Also moving a power socket as the wall i'm putting this on hasn't got one?

Any other things you can come up with and any advice will be most welcome as i am looking to start this in the coming weeks

Many Thank

Matt
