Hi,

I would like to install my LCD in the wall and make it rotate into the bedroom/livingroom.

Similarity to this, but I have a large concrete wall which I'am going to maka a hol in.

Are you sure that the wall is made of concrete? Far more likely to be made of lightweight concrete blocks. Is the wall part of the main structure? In any event the top of the hole needs a lintel to support it.

Unless you are completely sure that know what you are doing, I would strongly advise you to get a professional to do this work.

I do not think that you need a bracket, more a turntable that is made for rotating TVs, have a look at Woodfit for suitable turntables:-

However, I can't help thinking that it would be both cheaper and easier to buy two TVs. A large hole in the wall could well deter future purchasers.

Hi,

I live in Iceland and and we use concrete in almost all houses and the price for LCD in Iceland is rather expensive so I think this could be a good solution but I am only looking into this. I think it will be cool and also I will have batter space to move around the bed...because off a small walking path next to the wall.
The turntable could do the work. Than "only" have too make the hole and build a table. I will post some pics if I decide to go for it.

I didn't know that you are in Iceland. I was a Surveyor but I am only familiar with construction in the UK. It would be very rare to come across an internal solid concrete wall in a domestic property in the UK.

As the wall is concrete, it is even more important to consider if it is part of the structure before knocking a large hole in it. I still consider that this is a job for a professional builder. Some heavy duty tools are going to be needed to make the hole, maybe even an angle grinder to cut any metal reinforcing rods in the concrete. The decorations will also need to be made good. Overall a rather messy and disruptive building job.

I can't comment on the economics of your proposal, without knowing the price of LCD TVs in Iceland, or an estimate of the cost of the building work. However, I still think two TVs would be better and give a neater job.

Your original reference to a rotating TV in a wall on TV Snob refers to a large expensive ($7000) bit of furniture, which was intended to divide up a large room, rather than being inserted between two existing rooms.
