What is the best (cheapest) way to distribute WMC round the house?

Hi All,

I'm looking to distribute my WMC setup to 2 TV's in my flat.

Currently I have: WMC PC, 360, SKY+ all connected via component and a Wii connected via composite ....to.... my AV Amplifier. This is in turn connected to my TV in my living room (via monitor out - component). Easy so far when I am just using 1 TV.

So my question is, how can I connect another TV to this setup? I just want to display the same image (and sound) to both TV's. The cable run to the main tv is 10m and 20m to the second tv from my AMP.

Even better I would like to install a media extender but dont fancy the cost of this especially since windows 7 is round the corner and I'm not sure what extenders (if any) will still work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Martin

Usually you can buy a splitter which looks something like this -Splitter. My parents use them when doing Karaoke/disco which displays the lyrics on all the tv's in the venue.

Thanks, cant see your image tho

I was thinking about a splitter but can you get one for component video. Also would that mean I would need to run one 20m component and one 20m audio (where would this come from on the amp?) cable to the other tv?

I'll have a look now.

Edit: Found this HERE

Maybe it's something like that you need but less? (just 2 outputs)?

Thanks for that. Looks interesting. I'm going to see if I can find one that will do 3 way distribution and fingers crossed it will cost a bit less. Any ideas what the maximum cable runs are for the component? I would think 20m should be fine?

Alternatively you could use component-CAT5/6 converters. Work beautifully.
