Mounting a centre speaker.

How do I mount a large centre speaker on the wall without looking cheap or stupid?

Re: Mounting a centre speaker.

In my cheap and cheerfull garage conversion which i must get around to posting in a thread i did it by using a couple of L brackets and stuck sponge feet on top face to stop any scratching of the underside of the speaker. I also painted the brackets the same colour as the wall and they are hardly visible to me anyway.

Re: Mounting a centre speaker.

It is worth finding out where the speaker was designed to be placed. Some will be designed to be mounted at a distance away from a rear wall, some designed to be very close

I run my Sonus Faber center on it's dedicated stand some 18" away from the back wall, fronts 24" from back wall

Re: Mounting a centre speaker.

for me its impractical, the walls are already decorated and it will look cheap.

the only option I can think of is get a really low single speaker stand.???

Re: Mounting a centre speaker.

A low 400-500mm centre speaker stand would be better. Although I've not come across ones that are sold singularly.

Re: Mounting a centre speaker.

What are the measurements and weight of the speaker?

I've mounted mine on a floating shelf above the tv.
