I've been moved to the top of the house where my new cinema system will be installed. But I am going to put down a laminate floor and want to reduce the sound of impact and airborne noise such as hifi and tv noice filtering downstairs. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Just so you know, laminate is terrible for acoustics. Youd be much better off with carpet. Too many reflections off the hard surface of laminate!
