If anyone can help please my house has the Lexcom Home system which uses Lexcom Cable(cat 7 equivalnet they say!).All the plates on the wall utilise RJ45 Connectors as does the Lexcom central panel.I have just recently purchased Sony playstation 3 and this weeK looking to hopefully purchase the Humax Foxsat Freesat PVR which will replace my Sky+.

I would like to obtain HI Definition TV and believe the Lexcom cables are capable of carrying this signal.However

oops sorry lost last of mesage.

However ..... as I only have RJ45 connection points in panel and on plates next to TVs I cannot use the usual HDMI cable.Can anybody please tell me what cables/hardware I will need to get HI Def on 3 of my TVS.At the moment my sonyplaystation dvd recorders and soon to be humax are located in a cupboard with the lexcom home panel.Thanks for your patience!

One of the issues with these proprietry systems is they are sold as a solution to everything you ever need...This is unfortunate as its rarely true. YOu will loose functionality the lexcom systems uses pairs of cable 4 pairs in total 2 are used for data one for phone one for normal TV to send HDMI over Cat5/6 you need 8 pairs or 2 cables another option would be component video over 4 pairs or the whole Lexcom cable using this in the central location Manufacturers of Video Switches, Routers and Extenders. or the new SNX888 You should go back to your original installer for advice. (but i guess you did it yourself?)

If we can help more drop us a line. But i doubt your going to be able to get this working at HD with Lexcom cabling. 2 Cat5 and 2 coax is much more flexible and no more expensive....

Thanks for the website address.I am basically trying to educate myself a little so that I can give a couple of helpful pointers to the local AV guys I used to help put all the finishing touches my system(i am just a simple sparky).I do have a minimum of 2 lexcom cables sometimes 4 adjacent to each tv point because I seem to remeMber somebody from Lexcom telling me this was the way forward for HDMI.Will contact Smart E to see which of their products they recommend..Thks again for your help.
