Well it was about 2 weeks ago when a friend of mine decided to live in his room for once and he decided to persuade his mum to buy him a Samsung 40" LCD TV.
First thing he said to me was, "Al, can you put it on the wall "
Hmmmm i thought. Ahh well give it a try

Well the TV came on Wednesday and they didnt have the bracket in stock, so that came today.
7PM Friday evening and it was time to work
I started mounting the brackets onto the tv and tried so hard to get the base pedestal off, finally did lol, bloody screws.

We started mounting the bracket on the wall with the supplied fittings etc. Found out it wasnt going onto the wooden wall beams and into concrete, Oh S**t i thought.
Here goes nothing. Drilling straight in and fitting the supplied rawl plugs.
Well they were terrible, they kept bending when putting in the screws. Ended up putting in cheap ones from Wilkies in. They worked a charm.

So put it all up and fitted everything together. It looks fantastic, and im dead chuffed.

Bad news now.
The TV decides not to boot up properly.
Its one of those common faults in where you switch it on, the red standby light flashes and the panel doesnt do anything.
The tv still responds with remote input but nothing comes on the screen at all.
Anyone know whats up with it?

Looks like its faulty tbh, its under 5 year warrenty so back to EmpireDirect it is :\

Well we took the TV back to Empire Direct today and unfortunatly they didnt have the same tv in stock. But my mate had to have a tv lol.
So we picked up the Sony Bravia 40" for £50 extra. It was £80 but they nocked off £30. How nice.
The tv looks bigger also.
I did prefer the Samsung, looked more sleek. The sony has 3000:1 more contrast ratio. So its 33000:1 now.

You should really do something about those cables...Agree supplied fixings are usually rubbish we use different fittings for each wall type either plaster board ballons or expanding anchors for brick/block walls or off set shield anchors for dot and dab walls

Well i thing for the wires the best bet is going to be covering it up with conduit. Drilling through to the other side is not really an option. Nor worth the hassle. I probs would if it was my house.
