video and sound distribution

hi all first of all i have just set up my main tv in the lounge with the boxes tucked away upstairs, and remotely operating them with a ir sender and a harmony one.

what i wantto know what is the easiest way of getting tv around the rest of the house, kitc hen bathroom etc and still being able to switch between the differnet bits of kit.

i have at the moment as follows o n my lg tv

AV1 cable
hdmi 1 media centre
hdmi 2 sky

sound is delivered in the main room through my lg dvd player from upstairs, would normal coax work but what about quality of video and sound

thanks

Re: video and sound distribution

Hi Alan it all comes down to the number of rooms and quality you want there is old school RF distribution which converts each source to modulated video and mono sound and you use a TV tuner to tune into channel 6 for sky box channel 7 for DVD etc. Or there is video ditribution where you use a switch that has 4 inputs and 4 outputs and can send any input to 1 or all outputs at the same time this is known as a Matrix switch more info is here Wired Life Multi-Room Video
