Projector mount advice

Hey guys.

I'm planning on mounting my HD1, but have no access above my ceiling and am a little stumped. At the moment the plan is to hit the ceiling untill it sounds like there's a beam there and start poking holes to see how big it is - does that sound about right? My other concern, once i've found a beam, is whether it'll be wide enough to cater for the mount or whether some kind of plate will have to be fitted between two beams:

LMP Products (top one)

I really am clueless when it comes to diy and any advice would be great

Hi

You need to find out whats in your ceiling, you can buy a cheap batton detector, this will tell you exactly where the beams are.

2 big wood screws will be enough to hold the PJ on the ceiling the other fixing points can just be good quality plasterboard fixing to keep things stable.

But, what about the cable management????
