Question Centre speaker mount

I am doing a living room installation and the TV is going to be mounted on the chimney breast with the front centre speaker just below it.
What is the best way to mount the speaker? It will be a Mordant Short - probably this:

There will be an electric fire underneath by the way.

Re: Centre speaker mount

I've just wall mounted my TV and I have a Mordaunt Short centre speaker also. I just went for a simple floating shelf below the TV with the speaker on it. Having said that I don't have a fireplace - my installation is just on a plain wall. I havn't finished the wiring yet but will post up a pic here later when I get home if that helps you.

Re: Centre speaker mount

As mentioned in my post above here are a few pics of my recent install, as yet unfinished, hence loose wires and filler on wall needing sanded and painted.

This sort of floating shelf set up may not be suitable for your situation as you have a fireplace and mantlepiece to consider.

Re: Centre speaker mount

If you're brave enough, remove the midbass drivers and drill 2 holes through the back. Bolt to the wall!

Changing cables would be a challenge and you may need spacers on the back between the cabinet and the wall.
